hello!
My name is Clara Brown, I am a current graduate student studying Sports Product Design at the University of Oregon.
My pursuit in design is rooted in the connection and empowerment I find through movement. I’m drawn to community and the way it is built in motion, where people move together and grow together.
University of Missouri Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
Engineer: to skillfully or artfully arrange for a situation to occur.
For me, this meant the opportunity to create with purpose and gain the technical education needed to do so.
During this period of time, I found community within clubs, activities and philanthropic organizations.
And I found my movement and joy within the outdoors through hiking and running.
My love for community and movement have always been.
I grew up as an athlete. I gave all the sports a try from ballet and soccer to track and cross country - eventually finding the most love for swimming. Ultimately, these experiences are what shaped me into who I am today. I learned what it looks and feels like to commit your heart to something and experience the magic held in being apart of a team.
Since becoming a swammer, I have become committed to creating opportunities for all people to experience the intersection of community and movement. I believe sports products have the power to bring people closer to movement by allowing them to find comfort in trying new things. Let’s work together to create opportunities that make everyone feel like an athlete!
